“Yellowstone” star Kelly Reilly puts to rest the buzz surrounding the strong fan base that Western is infesting, and the chaos in Hollywood.
Riley shared his thoughts on the cultural impact and appeal that “Yellowstone” has had since its debut in 2018.
“I don’t participate in the noise in any way. I stay away from it. The only safe place for me is at work – and then home with my husband. Very boring,” Riley revealed. Town and Country Magazine.
“It can be a whirlwind of bulls— and fakery, and I know I’m not going to find my value in that,” she continued.

Before taking on the role of Beth Dutton, John Dutton’s strong and forceful daughter, Riley was living her life in New York City with her husband Kyle Baugher in 2017 and visiting the English countryside.
“It can be a storm of bulls— and fakery, and I know I won’t find my value in that.”
“I’ve always loved my job, but the business can sometimes present challenges that I didn’t feel I was cut out for,” Riley said. “I just wanted to go back to the theater and do two or three plays a year, and live quietly. It didn’t feel like a second prize. It felt like a choice, a life that I wanted to.”
Then, Riley was sent the script for “Yellowstone.”
“I remember reading it when I was packing up my apartment and thinking, oh, s—. It was a little like lying down. The challenge of it piqued my interest,” she said.

Reilly hopped on a call with the show’s creator, Taylor Sheridan, and was immediately cast.
“I didn’t even audition,” she recalled. “Then I was like, ‘F—, I didn’t audition.’ I was scared, because I didn’t know how I was going to do it and it took me a minute to find it.”
Riley never worried about playing such a strong character, she was focused on trying to convey Beth’s complexities to the world.
“It’s not just about playing strong, capable women,” Riley said. “That’s missing the point. Male characters can be dirty, but they can still be brave. Full spectrum. And I think there’s a bravery in embracing the shadows. How can you be honest if you don’t own some of your darkness? ?”
When it comes to continuing to play Beth Dutton, Reilly has mixed feelings about resting the role and continuing the “Yellowstone” story without Kevin Costner.
“I loved this season. There were some really different areas to explore, so I’m not clinging to it. I’m happy to put it back in my lock box,” she said.
In August, bombshell reports surfaced that “Yellowstone” would not end after season five and would continue for a sixth season.
