Daniel Dubose has called out Jack Paul for a free title shot for his IBF heavyweight belt. If the International Boxing Federation approves him for their belt, it will be a huge fight.
If that happens, it will be great publicity for Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs), the promotional company he works for, and, of course, Jack. Most Valuable Promotions revealed the call-out from Dubois to Jake on social media today, and it has generated a lot of fan interest in the matchup.
Fans are giving DuBose grief.
Dubois is getting a lot of flak from fans on social media for calling out Jack Paul, but it’s a smart career move for him. Jack is probably the #2 star in boxing right now, possibly even #1, and the amount of money Dubois could make fighting him would be huge.
The fight would make DuBois a big star, and he could capitalize on the popularity of fights against Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury, and Oleksandr Usyk.
If the IBF gives the green light to a Jake-Dubois title match, it’s up to Jake (11-1, 7 KOs) if he wants to go through with it because it’s a big step up from that kind of opposition. He fought during his four-year career.
Last Friday, November 15, Jack defeated former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson by unanimous decision in the eighth round in front of a crowd of over 70,000 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Former heavyweight champion Tyson, 58, was no match for Paul’s youth, but he tried, and it was interesting to see if he could land one of his big shots to bail him out.
