Five couples left it all on the ballroom floor to try and get a spot. Dancing with the stars Finals during the semi-finals on Tuesday, November 19.
The celebrity contestants and their supporting partners performed a Latin-style dance and a ballroom-style dance during the episode. Chandler Kinney and his companion, Brandon Armstrongfinished things off with a spicy salsa routine.
“You danced like you were already in the finals,” Derrick Hoff told Kinney, 24, after the routine. “Lifts and moves [were] Very smart.”
Carrie Ann Inaba. “There’s a new side of you that’s coming out,” added.
The next ones were up. Joey Graziadi And Gina Johnsonwho earned his first perfect score of the season for his Foxtrot. Hough, 39, called it “one of the best, if not the best” foxtrots he’s ever seen a male celebrity do on the show.
“Fred Astaire High-fiving you right now,” Hugh said. “The frame was old enough to hang in a gallery.”
The judges had a lot of positive feedback during the semi-finals, but not every couple made it to the finals…or so most. us thought at the end of the evening, Stephen Niederowski And Riley Arnold And Ilona Maher And Alan Burston It was waiting to hear which of the two pairs had made it to the finals when the cohost Alfonso Ribeiro announced a shocking twist.
“All of you [are]! 53-year-old Ribeiro asked for the happiness of both couples. Niedorusk, 26, and Arnold, 19, immediately fell to the floor in relief.
Before the conclusion of the elimination, or lack thereof, the episode had several impressive moments. After Maher, 28, and Burston’s paso doble, Inaba, 56, told Maher how proud he was of his progress.
“Ilona, you’ve never doubted your right to be here in the semifinals. You’re the one who came out on top in this competition,” he said. “You started with the lowest score. You have proven your worth in many ways.”
The celebrity contestants aren’t the only ones who have grown up this season. Hugh pointed out that he had seen 30-year-old Armstrong who DWTS From Season 27 onward, the pro continued to flourish during his partnership with Kinney.
“When I was a pro on the show, there were partners that I had that brought out the best in me and made me a better dancer and a better choreographer, and I really feel like Brandon, you really do that. The season has grown,” Hoff said. “I really believe that. [Chandler] Something beautiful has come out of you.”
