I’ve been getting up to two hours a day of training lately, mostly horse riding but also strength training and back and hip exercises. My body seems to tolerate it well and feels great.
Some memorable trips included last Tuesday when I drove with my group to the end of Redwood Retreat Road and showed up here On Strava. Then on Sunday I did a hard workout consisting of upper body strength training and PT, followed by a quick trip off the Coyote Creek Trail to the Bernal Trail, then turning onto the Monterey Expressway on my way back. I’ve also had some tough spells. It was great at the time, but I was pretty tired afterwards, so I took it a little easier yesterday.

I’m visiting my brother in Phoenix in a few weeks, and I want to rent a bike while I’m there to ride some of the canal trails. This will be upright. Since I usually ride recumbent, and haven’t done a lot of upright miles recently, my butt isn’t as strong as it should be, so I’ll be doing more upright miles in preparation, as I did on last Tuesday, Friday, and yesterday’s rides.
