A man was arrested after police say he stole a delivery truck in Oregon on Friday while an employee was still inside the truck’s cargo area.
Just before 4:30 a.m. on Nov. 15, Milwaukee police were called to a report of a work cargo truck that had just been stolen from a warehouse parking lot.
The business, Elephants Delicatessen, reported that a delivery truck was operating and full of employees that day when a man jumped into the truck.
Security footage shows the suspect climbing into the truck cab and driving away, while an employee, who was still inside, is forced to jump out of the back of the moving truck.

“[the truck] It started moving even faster and then started to grab the thing I was holding,” said trucker Esmeralda. told KGW8. “He slowed down for a while before he hit the railroad tracks, and so I jumped off.”
Fortunately, he suffered only minor injuries, police said.
Witnesses told officers at the scene that the truck was equipped with a GPS tracking device. However, after checking the area, officers were unable to locate the truck.
Later in the day, deli employees notified police that the van had been spotted around Portland, according to GPS tracking system data.

With the help of the Beaverton Police Department, the truck was located and the suspected thief, Forrest Le Guyante, 29, of Aberdeen, Washington, was still inside.
When the police tried to stop the truck, Giante allegedly rammed the police vehicle into the truck and tried to escape.

However, the truck was stopped by heavy traffic and so Giante allegedly abandoned the truck and fled on foot through business parking lots and neighborhood yards.
Officers were able to track and arrest him with the help of a police K-9.

Giante was booked into the Washington County Jail and charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, reckless endangerment, attempt to elude, hit and run and unlawful possession of methamphetamine.
He also faces charges of kidnapping, criminal mischief, theft and credit card fraud, according to the Milwaukee Police Department.
