The Philippine Parliament voted to isolate Vice President Sarah Dotrt after complaints about the alleged corruption.

The move comes before the elections in the mid -term in May, which will be seen as a referendum of Marcus in the middle of his term in addition to the DUTERTE general support scale.

Dutete did not comment on the dismissal vote. But her older brother, who represents his hometown in Davao in Parliament, Paulo Deutri, said that the administration was “stepping on a dangerous land” with what he described as “a clear act of political persecution.”

Marcus also did not comment on the isolation of Dotte. In November, he said it would be a “time waste” for the legislators to dismiss it when it has more important work.

Since the end of the Ferdinand Marcus dictatorship and the restoration of democracy in 1986, only one president – Joseph Estrada was isolated in 2000, due to alleged corruption.

But his trial ended without a ruling after a popular revolution of power forced him in January 2001.

The trial of only one isolation reached a ruling, the former head of the Supreme Court, Renato Corona, who was convicted of corruption in 2012.

Both trials to drop Estrada and Corona have been a misfortune and disagreement for several months.
