Britain is developing emergency plans for potential revenge if Donald Trump decides to target its exports with definitions, even when the US president suggested that he might gain the United Kingdom.

“The UK is out of the line, and we will see. But the European Union is outside the line,” Trump told reporters.

He added: “The UK is outside the line, but I am sure that one of them, I think it can be resolved. But the European Union, it is a terrible what they did.”

The Sir Kerr Starmer government planned the scenario for potential revenge if Trump targeted UK’s exports, according to officials who have been briefed on emergency plans.

“We are ready,” said one of the UK officials. “We look forward to working closely with President Trump, but the ministers will always do what is best in the national interest.”

The comments came even when the danger of world war of war began to recede on Monday afternoon when Mexico President Claudia Shinbom said that she and Trump agreed to postpone the American customs tariff for a month. Trump also targeted Canada and China with a large tariff.

Another British official said: “The United States took the end of this week to confuse most analysts,” said another British official. “Being an open economy is the big selling point in Britain, but there is a high degree of uncertainty. You can not exclude anything.”

On Monday, Downing Street left open to the possibility of revenge on the perbin if Trump targeted Britain, but she refused to discuss “virtual situations.”

“We want to build on the current commercial relationship in the UK,” said a spokesman for the Downing Street. “The Prime Minister has built a very constructive relationship with President Trump.”

“Prime Minister Starmer was very nice. We have held two meetings, we have made many phone calls, and we are dealing very well,” Trump said.

Downting Street said that Britain and the United States “had a fair and balanced trade relationship that would benefit from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean,” but the ministers fear that this may not be sufficient to protect the United Kingdom from definitions.

The British Treasury Department wants to maintain any revenge to the minimum and the assets of Jonathan Reynolds, the Minister of Business, to the Financial Times last year: “Increasing the costs of goods or food for your component is not attractive.”

“It is extremely difficult to inflict economic pain in the United States and will inevitably be very provocative.”

However, he said that the UK has a “long list of definitions on the shelf” from a former commercial dispute with the United States – on aluminum and steel – it could decrease if the ministers decide revenge.

The customs tariff that aims at specific industries in the “red countries” that constitute the political heart of Trump included: the previous goals included jeans and Harley-Davidson.

Louis believes that the ministers are likely to try to avoid customs tariffs in the first place and say they have studied the way Japan dealt with Trump in his first term: “Keep your head in the first place and not excite it.”

He said that the UK can buy more American products – such as gas or defense equipment – or take a more strict position with China, a policy that is eager to avoid. “The other thing is to be really nice for Trump,” Louis added. “The king’s proposal.”

“My view is that the UK should not decrease, but it may be almost impossible not to do so,” said Denkan Edwards, CEO of the British Business Trade Authority.

David Henig, a former government trade official, said that one of the traditional goals of the European Union in any via commercial conflict was the Bourbon whiskey, but Scotch’s whiskey manufacturers want to avoid the revenge that affected the main export market.

Sir Ed Davi, the liberal democratic leader, said Starmer should go to the summit of the Commonwealth leaders to show the support of Canada, which with Mexico has endured the Trump tariff so far.

Meanwhile, Starmer traveled to Brussels on Monday for talks with European Union leaders, realizing that his attempt to “reset” its relations with the bloc risk Trump.

His journey focuses on the unofficial meeting of the European Council-the first such meeting that includes the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom since the exit of Britain from the European Union-on security cooperation and defense.

Starmer wants to improve trade relations with the European Union and also seeks to deepen trade cooperation with the United States, especially in the field of services and technology.

According to the United States’ figures, America turned a total trade surplus with the United Kingdom in 2023, reaching $ 14.5 billion. This puts Britain in a positive position, as Trump threatens countries with a great deficit.
