The Sudan Army is demanding great progress against RSF in Greater Khartoum | Conflict news

Development represents one of the most important progress of the army since the war broke out between the commander of the Boran army and RSF.

The Sudan Army says it has regained control of almost every Khartum north, as it increased its attack, which aims to restore full control over the capital of the semi -military rapid support forces (RSF).

The army, in a state of war with RSF since April 2023, has received in recent weeks large areas of the capital and its surrounding areas of the paramilitary forces.

On Saturday, the army said that it had regained Cavouri, a major area in Khartoum North, after pushing RSF to the outskirts of the city, also known as Al -Bahri.

The province, one of the richest exit of the Great, was a major base for the paramilitary group, which is housing properties linked to the senior leaders of RSF, including Abdul Rahman Dalo, brother and deputy commander of RSF Muhammad Hamdan Daglo.

On Friday, the Sudanese army announced that it had regained control of Abu Qouta in the northwestern state of RSF.

In a statement, the military spokesman Nabil Abdullah said that the army and their allies on Friday prompted “the remains of terrorist militias Daglo” from Cavouri and other areas 15 km (nine miles) to the east in the East Elephant.

On Thursday, a military source told Agence France -Presse news agency that the army was advancing towards the Khartoum Center, while witnesses reported clashes there and explosions in the south of the capital.

With the new progress, the army obtained all cities and towns in the state of Jesira, with the exception of horses in the north and the surrounding villages located 50 km (31 miles) north of Khartoum.

The developments indicate one of the most important advances of the army since the outbreak of the war between the army commander, Abd al -Fattah, Burhan and its former ally, Daglo, who quickly seized many Khartoum and other strategic areas.

Fears of revenge

However, with the approaching fighting in the capital, Amnesty International raised concerns on Friday about possible revenge in the areas recently regained by the army.

The law group cited reports on the circulation of lists targeting activists, human rights defenders, medical and humanitarian workers, on charges of “RSF partners”.

At South Bill, a neighborhood in Khartoum, RSF was detained on Saturday two members of a local volunteer rescue group under the threat of weapons from the Bashair Hospital – the last facility in part in the area, the group said in a statement.

On Thursday, RSF was also said to have detained the director of the Bashair Hospital, as well as the head of the soup kitchen and a volunteer, according to local rescue men.

Last week, the United Nations Human Rights Office has documented at least 18 civilian deaths in Khartoum in the north since the army began its progress there in late January.

After seizing the army to the capital of Jesira, Wadi Madani last month, the mass executions were reported against civilians.

Human rights groups have accused the army and militias allied with the killings outside the judiciary, kidnapping, physical and psychological torture, especially the targeting of suspected RSF communities.

The army and RSF have made a war movement since mid -April 2023, which killed more than 20,000 people and displaced 14 million, according to the United Nations authorities and the local authorities.
