The son of Norway’s Crown Princess Matmart, who is already facing torture charges as part of an ongoing investigation, has been arrested on suspicion of rape.
Marius Borg Hobe, 27, is the stepson of Crown Prince Haakon, heir to the Norwegian throne, but has no royal titles or official duties.
On Tuesday, Norwegian police said Mr Hebe had been charged with “having sex with a person who is unconscious or otherwise unable to resist the act”.
Mr Hebe, who has reportedly denied rape, faces multiple charges for crimes he allegedly committed against four other victims.
In a statement, police said rape is “a concern. [a] sexual acts without intercourse” and that the victim was said to be unable to resist the act”.
According to local reports, Norway’s palace has declined to comment on Mr Hebe’s latest arrest.
Mr Hebe was arrested by police in a car with the victim in a separate incident at 23:12 CET on Monday.
In connection with that separate incident, on August 4, he faces charges of assault and criminal damage.
The police said On Tuesday the charges were expanded to include “misconduct” in an intimate relationship and “another violation” of a restraining order against the same victim.
He added that one was reported for driving without a valid driver’s license.
Mr Hebe’s residence in Skowgam, the official residence of the Crown Prince and his wife, has also been searched by police.
Mr Hebe has previously been accused of abusing ex-girlfriends Julianne Sneikestad and Nora Hackland, as well as threatening a man.
