In its first season, The silo was a series that centered around unraveling a mystery. At last the mystery was solved. So what is left? The silo In its second season?
The first episode of of the silo The second season, aptly titled “The Engineer,” takes this idea literally. It spends most of its time with our main character using his engineering skills to build bridges. She has been alone, in the dark, for an hour. No one to talk, nothing to say. It’s all Juliet, channeling the horror of what she’s learned from her mind into something she can control: solving a simple engineering problem.
With the mystery solved, keep your audience interested, now The silo Something has to be built.
First, the second season picks up where the last left off, with Juliet outside her silo. She is fit and looking for destruction on the surface. The former sheriff has mentally accepted the truth: she was wrong, and the surface is hell.
Now, her primary mission is survival, and she realizes that in this environment, she won’t last long. Fortunately, Juliette bought herself some extra time in Season 1, by fixing the sabotaged heat tape on her suit. Despite his recovery, the suit wouldn’t last long.
Juliet heads to another silo, one with a deeper history than hers. Everyone who had ever lived there died, killed when they convinced themselves it was safe to go out. Now, to keep herself alive, Juliet must climb over their rotting corpses to get inside her empty but safe house.
Inside this silo, in the dark, Juliet sees a broken bridge. On the other side is light and sound. To find out what it is, he will have to cross the chasm. Once he’s done that, he’ll need a way to get back.
And so, our born fixer works on fixing by creating a bridge.
As she works, she is also building. of the silo Future as a television series. If you’ve read the Hugh Howey books that this story is based on, you know where this should go. Now for us, the audience, the hook that will keep us coming back won’t be a mystery, now solved, but wondering if Juliet can make something worthwhile out of what she knows. Is it or not?
It’s a bold start to the second season of the show. The series takes a risk on an episode with nothing but one character, limited dialogue, and silent shadows.
The silo It pulls it off brilliantly by juxtaposing the silence and darkness with flashbacks and leaning on Rebecca Ferguson’s performance. She is still one of the best streaming actresses.
The silo Season 2 was eagerly awaited. If this first episode is any indication, expect it to be better than the first episode.
If you haven’t seen it The silo Still, it’s not too late to start. The first season, and now the second, are both available to stream on Apple TV+.
