The Air Force says that Russia fired an intercontinental ballistic missile towards Ukraine

Russian troops fired various missiles into Ukraine in an early morning attack on Thursday, including an intercontinental ballistic missile, reportedly from the Astrakhan region.

Ukraine’s air force said on its Telegram account that it destroyed six Kh-101 cruise missiles using anti-aircraft combat operations.

According to the air force, the Russian strike hit critical infrastructure in the central eastern city of Dnipro.

This comes after Ukraine fired US-supplied long-range missiles. Russia on Tuesday, It marked the first time in the 1,000-day war for Kiev to do so – a move President Biden endorsed on Sunday.

There are currently no reports of injuries or fatalities.

If the attack involved an ICBM, it would mark a major escalation in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and the first time such a weapon has been used.
