Slim Republican House majority size hangs on 3 no-name races

Republicans hold a slim majority in the House of Representatives, although the size of that narrow margin won’t be known until the final three undecided races are called.

On Wednesday, The Associated Press called Ohio’s 9th Congressional District for Democratic incumbent Rep. Marcy Kaptur and Alaska’s largest district for Republican entrepreneur Nick Begich, who unseated Democratic incumbent Rep. Mary Satler Paltola. The seat turned red.

Three House races in California and Iowa that remained uncontested as of Thursday.

The balance of power currently stands at 219 seats for the Republicans and 213 for the Democrats.

Bohannon has requested a recount in his bid to unseat Miller Max. The Associated Press has not yet called the race because the margin was so close it could have prompted a recount.

Miller Max has declared victory and said he is confident of his lead.
