Three young founders of tech equipment brand Jarsh revealed that around 25 lakh people die while maintaining power wires, cleaning buildings and entering mines while promoting their business on the fourth season of Shark Tank India. The founders – Kaustubh, Anand and Srikanth from Hyderabad – revealed that they manufacture helmets, equipment and tools to protect workers who work in electricity wires, clean buildings and enter mines.
One of the founders – Kaustubh – said that they have patented the technology that works on the solid-state cooling unit. When asked who would use this product, he said their product positioning is not about comfort, adding that they offer a solution to heat compression in the form of a helmet.
A similar solution has already been provided to police departments. He also stated that there is no other brand that does the same for helmets. During their presentation, they also revealed that their brand name was inspired by the character Jarvis from the film series Iron man films.
They admitted that they are currently selling the products at a very high price as air-conditioned helmets cost INR 17,000 while a regular helmet costs INR 200. The founders sought an investment of INR 50 lakh for a 1 per cent stake in their company, taking their brand valuation to INR 50 lakh.
Boat CMO Aman Gupta offered Jarsh’s founders INR 50 lakh for a 1.5 per cent stake, which the founders agreed to. Needless to say, social media users were impressed with the founders for getting a solid deal on the offer. They stated that the founders were right to choose Aman Gupta given his expertise in wearables.
“Kausthup was my schoolmate and best friend. I have seen him and the JARCH team journey, and I am so happy with how far they have come! They have worked incredibly hard, and it is inspiring to see their efforts. I wish they had mentioned in the presentation how KTR supported them in the early days.” And their booth at the World Expo in Dubai – those were major milestones and apart from that, this is just the beginning for them see what they will achieve next! Keep making us proud, Kausthub – the sky is the limit!
Another user commented, “They chose Aman because of its expertise in manufacturing wearables, which can help their voltage sensors and other devices.”
A third user wrote: “I saw this presentation. Amazing innovation, good and humble founders.”
“They have already picked the right shark and gone with the right idea of not diluting anymore. This can be scaled not just within India but globally as well,” a fourth user said.
Another user commented, “Good offer but very expensive. Neither companies nor government will buy these expensive helmets for their employees.”
