Princesister of Tyka NelsonThe cause of death has been confirmed.
Tyka, who died Nov. 4 at age 64, died of a heart attack, according to TMZ , citing a death certificate from the Minnesota Department of Health. The outlet reported that the secondary cause of death was heart failure.
According to TMZ, authorities ruled that Tyka’s heart had also weakened from drug abuse. The musician suffered a heart attack 45 minutes before he was pronounced dead.
Tyka also suffered from non-ischemic cardiomyopathy, a term used to describe a range of conditions that cause abnormal heart function, per TMZ, before his death. is
Tyka’s son, President Nelsonshared the news of his mother’s passing. Minnesota Star Tribune on November 5, but did not provide further details.
“He had a mind of his own. He’s in a better place,” his half-sister, Sharon Nelsontold the outlet.

On April 21, 2016, Prince was found dead in an elevator at the Paisley Park compound in Chanhassen, Minnesota. He was 57 years old. His cause of death was ruled an accidental overdose of the opioid fentanyl.
