Prince William, Kate Middleton’s Windsor Castle estate has been targeted by thieves

Fox News Digital has confirmed that burglars broke into a building at the royal family’s Windsor Castle estate.

The Windsor estate, which houses many of the royal family’s employees and is also home to Adelaide Cottage, where Prince William and Kate Middleton live with their three young children, was targeted in October.

“At around 11.45pm on Sunday 13 October, we received reports of a burglary at a property on Crown Estate land off the A308 in Windsor,” Thames Valley Police told Fox News Digital in a statement.

“The offenders entered a farm building and made off with a black Izuzu pick-up and a red quad bike. They then headed towards the Old Windsor/Datchet area,” police continued.

“No arrests have been made at this stage and investigations are ongoing,” he added.

The Sun, which originally reported the news, wrote that William and Middleton, along with children George, Charlotte and Louis, were asleep at home at the time of the break-in.

His house is reportedly just five minutes away from the building that was burglarized.

gave Outlet claims To know where the vehicles are and the best time to attempt a break-in, burglars “will be watching Windsor Castle for a while.” A source explained that there were alarms on the estate, but employees were reportedly unaware of the problem until they “bumped into the security barrier” on their way out the door.

“The barrier needs to be replaced as it was badly damaged,” the source claimed.

Just before the October break-in, The Sun also reported that armed guards had been removed from the estate’s two main gates, apparently due to a lack of qualified officers.

Fox News Digital has reached out to Kensington Palace for comment.

In 2022, the family moved from their home in Kensington Palace to Adelaide Cottage on the more rural Windsor Castle estate, with several sources claiming that William and Middleton wanted to give their children a different life from London.

“They’re an outside family, London just wasn’t working for them anymore,” a source familiar with the family told People magazine during the move. “The countryside is definitely their happy place.”

Their cottage is described as a modest four-bedroom property. It was built for Queen Adelaide in 1831. Wife of King William IV.

From there it is a 10 minute walk to the palace.

In 2021, a man named Jaswant Singh Cheil was arrested for trespassing on the Windsor Castle estate. He scaled the walls with a loaded crossbow, intending to kill Queen Elizabeth II on Christmas Day. He pleaded guilty, and in 2023, he was sentenced to nine years in prison.
