President-elect Donald Trump said he spoke by phone with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday about TikTok, fentanyl, trade and more.

Trump said in press statements: “The call was very good for both China and the United States.” Truth is a social function.

“I expect we will solve many problems together, starting immediately,” said the president-elect, who is scheduled to be sworn in on Monday.

“We discussed balancing trade with fentanyl, TikTok, and many other topics. President Xi and I will do our best to make the world more peaceful and safe!” Trump wrote.

Xi said after the call that he and Trump expressed hope for greater progress in US-China relations, Reuters reported, citing state broadcaster CCTV.

Trump’s talk with Xi about TikTok came shortly before the Supreme Court upheld a federal law effectively banning the popular video-sharing app in the United States.

The law is scheduled to take effect on Sunday. It is unclear how Trump, who has credited TikTok with helping him defeat Vice President Kamala Harris in the Nov. 5 election, will deal with the looming ban.
