Radio host Charlemagne Tha God and former GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley said the “Morning Joe” co-hosts’ controversial visit to President-elect Donald Trump’s estate was nothing more than a ratings drama.
MSNBC co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, two of Trump’s fiercest critics in the media, revealed on Monday that they had a face-to-face meeting with the president-elect at Mar-a-Lago last week. had happened, and said it was an important matter. “But the truth is, it’s not that they suddenly saw the light, it’s that they saw the ratings,” Haley suggested as Charlamagne chuckled and agreed. “I mean, let’s be clear. They looked at the ratings tank and realized, ‘Oh, we better get with Donald Trump or we’re not going to have a show.’
“It’s a ratings and revenue game,” Charlamagne said. “What I don’t understand is, if you don’t like what someone is saying, if you don’t like what someone is doing, why not tell that person about it? Speak up and challenge him right away?”
He added that Democrats, some of whom have complained that they need their own liberal media, can begin to change their game plan by simply appearing on platforms they criticize.
“That’s why I think the biggest problem is, even now, when I see all these liberals, they’re talking about, ‘Oh, the left needs Joe Rogan,’ or ‘The left. needs a conservative network like the one on the right.’ It’s like, no, how about, grow some balls and get on those platforms, talk to Rogan?” he said.

Charlemagne added that there is one Democrat who appears to be ahead of the curve on this tactic.
“When you look at what Governor Newsom is doing right now, I think it’s a great strategy. As you know, he’s not my favorite candidate, right? But I like his media strategy,” Charlamagne told Fox News. Democratic politicians are not.” Don’t meet people where they are.”
News of the Trump-Scarborough-Brzezinski meeting set off a firestorm on the left, with MSNBC staff attacking the co-hosts.

Meanwhile, Trump described the meeting as “very pleasant.”
“I got a call from Joe Scarborough requesting a meeting for him and Micah, and I agreed that it would be a good thing if there was such a meeting,” Trump told Fox News Digital. ” “A lot of things were discussed, and I really appreciated the fact that they wanted to have an open conversation … In a lot of ways, it’s too bad it wasn’t done a long time ago.
