The three suspects arrested by ICE were identified this week as Menor Steven de Paz Munoz, 21, of Guatemala, Billy Ernie Buitrago-Bistos, 42, of Colombia, and Alexander Romau de Oliveira, 41, of Brazil.

De Paz-Munoz entered the United States on Sept. 24, 2020, near Eagle Pass, Texas, before being released by the US Border Patrol with a notice to appear before an immigration review judge, ICE said Wednesday.
He was later arrested by Great Barrington police in western Massachusetts on February 29, 2024, on charges of aggravated rape of a child, rape of a child, and indecent assault and battery on a person 14 years of age or older. .
Despite the Boston office of ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) registering a detainer with the police department, De Paz-Munoz was released on bail. He has since been detained.

Romao de Oliveira is a foreign fugitive convicted of raping a child in Brazil.
He was convicted on 10 February 2022 at the First Criminal Court of Jaro, Rondônia, Brazil, and sentenced to 14 years behind bars.
But Romao de Oliveira fled Brazil before serving his sentence, according to ICE. On April 16, 2022, Romao de Oliveira entered the United States near Santa Teresa, New Mexico, without entry from an immigration official and was released from custody after being served a notice to appear before a DOJ immigration review judge.

MassGOP spokesman Logan Tropiano told Fox News Digital that state Senate Minority Leader Bruce Tarr and House Minority Leader Brad Jones have introduced legislation to close loopholes stemming from a 2017 Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruling that has barred state courts from cooperating with ICE detainers.
