Josh Brolin Considering working with Denzel Washington — and how a slip while rehearsing a scene almost led to a fight between her and the Oscar winner.
Noting that he and Washington, 69, are “great now,” Brolin, 56, shared the story of the pair’s “almost” fight while talking about the shooting of their 2007 film, American GangsterDuring the Wednesday, Nov. 21, episode of the “In Depth with Graham Bensinger” interview series. The actor told the host Graham Bensinger That near-conflict happened when Washington changed Brolin’s lines for a scene at the last minute.
“I was trying to memorize the structure, and then we rehearsed. It wasn’t so much lines, mostly mine. And I had to be very confident, Outer range The actor started. “It’s Denzel Washington, man. It’s, like, not easy. You’re just this actor that they’re trying out, seeing if he’s the real thing or not. And I forgot a line.

Brolin explained that he developed Washington’s reaction to being in character while on set.
“In his mind, he was just doing his job. He was the man. He was Frank Lucas, period. But I didn’t know,” he added. “And then we passed that moment. I said, ‘Are you okay?’ He said, ‘Yes, you?’ I said, ‘Yes. Can I have my line?’ He said go for it. It seems he said what he needed to say.
