Jeff Bridges Looking on the bright side of your cancer diagnosis.
gave The Big Lebowski The star, 74, gave an update on her health three years after declaring her lymphoma in remission.
“I feel good,” Bridges said Fun tonight on the red carpet at the Country Music Awards on Wednesday, November 20 in Nashville. “It’s nice to see it in the rearview mirror.”
The actor continued, “It’s funny to say but it was great in a way. You are given gifts in times like these, which you can only get when you are going through such times. It magnifies all the love you feel for being alive and all the people you love, your family, and then you get it all. [love] Coming back.”
“That’s some strong stuff,” Bridges concluded.
In October 2020, the Oscar winner announced via X that he had been diagnosed with lymphoma and was beginning treatment.
“As a friend would say.. the new S**T is out,” he said of his bout with the “serious” illness. “I feel fortunate that I have a great team of doctors and the prognosis is good.”
Later this month, she gave fans another update on her progress, sharing a photo from her hospital room.
“I want to thank you all for reaching out during this time, it’s great to receive all the well wishes and love,” he wrote in an October 2020 Instagram post. “This Cancer thing is bringing up preciousness, and gratitude, and good old-fashioned love, and so many, big-time emotions. I feel it coming my way, and man, I appreciate it. It’s contagious, all this love, like some kind of positive virus.
He concluded at the time, “This cancer is making me appreciate my own mortality, appreciate the impermanence. I’m realizing, if I have something to share, now is the time.”
A year later, Bridges reported that her cancer was in remission.
“A lot has gone down since my last episode,” Truly great The star wrote in a handwritten note shared via her website in September 2021. “My cancer is in remission – the 9″ x 12″ mass has shrunk to the size of a marble.
Bridges also noted that he also contracted COVID-19 while undergoing cancer treatment. “Covid kicked my ass pretty good, but I’m on a double shot and feeling much better now,” she wrote. “I’ve heard that vaccines can help people. [long-term COVID]. Maybe that’s the reason for my quick improvement.”
Bridges presented the Entertainer of the Year award at the CMAs on Wednesday night, however, the winner Morgan Wallen was not in attendance.
