Donald Trump will take the presidential oath on Monday in front of the Capitol building in Washington, D.C. again. The event takes place at noon ET and is expected to attract significant interest from both supporters and opponents.

What to expect from opening day 2025
We can expect a huge turnout for the upcoming event, especially since Donald Trump’s previous inauguration in 2017 was the largest live news event ever hosted by content delivery network Akamai.
Although the guest list has not yet been confirmed, we can likely expect Joe Biden, members of Congress and the Supreme Court, Trump family members and incoming Vice President J.D. Vance to attend. There will also be several tech leaders planning to attend, including Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg. TikTok CEO Shou Chew also plans to attend the opening ceremony on Monday.

The main ceremony is expected to last about two hours, based on past events. The swearing-in ceremony lasts only about 30 minutes. The entire live stream, which includes events such as parades, performances and other activities, usually takes about 10 hours.
