Ryan Reynolds And Sean Levy The Deadpool & Wolverine director’s comments revealed that he was reshooting some scenes due to Lively’s reaction to the film.

“We only reshot the film in a day and a half, which we’re very proud of,” shared Reynolds, 48. Variety. “These types of films usually involve weeks of shooting. But this speech Matthew [Macfadyen] has one of the pieces we reshot. And that’s miraculous.”

The original ending showed Deadpool (Reynolds) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) saving the world by destroying the Time Reaper. Deadpool and Wolverine’s survival is immediately revealed, something fans haven’t seen for once Deadpool and Wolverine was released in July.

New scenes show Deadpool and Wolverine willing to sacrifice themselves and die to destroy the Time Reaper. Their fates were left unknown, leaving fans on the edge of their seats as villain Paradox (Macfadyen) made a speech – until he was interrupted by the main characters.

“And credit where credit is due. It used to be that there was no suspense, that the Power Room blew up, and our heroes survived,” Levy, 56, shared of the switch. “And it was Blake Lively who said to us, ‘You know, I’ve been with you through this whole movie. I want to sit in fear that they’re lost. Let me be in that place of suspense so that “The victory of their survival is more emotional and visceral.”

Levy praised Lively’s response, adding, “It was a black note and it really opened up a new way of thinking about that part of the movie and that’s why we reshot it. And, here, the payoff. Very satisfying.

Reynolds has previously reflected on how Lively, 37, has impressed. Deadpool and Wolverine. The actress, who played Lady Deadpool in the third film, sent a ping pong table onto the set, allowing Reynolds, 56, Levy and Jackman to tap into the film’s comedic tone as they played competitive games together.

“He and I have a bunch of these prints of the actors playing it on their sets,” Reynolds said in an interview with Vanity Fair in June. “We have. [Paul] Newman And [Robert] Redford In Durango, Mexico, while filming Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. We have Jimmy Stewart And Henry FondaI think in the 30s. We have Olivia de Havilland playing ping pong, Ronald Reagan And Jane Woman to play John Crawford. So Blake sent the ping pong table to Pinewood Studios.
