He said: “When you train with other players who suffer from such injuries, which have the same problems, they are very motivational.”
Now, in Canada for the first time, he says he is excited to represent his country and explore terrain.
What I love most is skiing. I fall in love with this sport. “Ski skiing on one skiing, one leg and two criminals,” he said.
“These great hills, wonderful weather, wonderful mountains. It’s very beautiful.”
The Ukraine team has 24 athletes in this year games, which attracted more than 500 participants from all over the world.
“I am standing here because I escaped,” said Hidok. “But I have a responsibility towards those who have their stories, but they cannot speak today.”
