Elon Musk wants to meet Alex Soros to ‘understand his motives’ after comparing his billionaire father George to an X-Men villain.

Musk and the Soros clan are no strangers to swapping gabs online—but it looks like they’ve finally reached a truce. (That being said, so far, we know to take Musk’s posts on X with a pinch of salt.)

The latest confusion between the parties occurred last night when Alex Soros, son of billionaire investor and entrepreneur George Soros, responded to an article about popular vote counting during the election.

The post claims that although Trump won the election, his mandate from the popular vote was not reflected in the majority he received in electoral votes (EVs).

Journalist and author John Nichols posted on X: “On election night, Trump claimed a ‘powerful mandate.’ At the time, he was winning more than 50 percent of the vote. But there were millions of uncounted votes. As the count Closer to completion, it shows that most Americans did not vote for Trump.

Trump won the election comfortably 312 to 226 in terms of EVs.

At the time of writing, the bipartisan tracker Cook Political Report puts the popular vote at 74,253,871 for Harris (48.24%) and 76,806,388 (49.9%) for President-elect Trump.

This is the point to which Alex Soros responded, writing: “It’s not a powerful mandate, and the numbers are important ‘they deliver to Democrats and progressives, but it’s an argument against despair and surrender.’ It was a close election, no wonder!”

Musk — who poured millions into Trump’s campaign and joked that he would be “f—ked” if the Republican candidate didn’t win the Oval Office — responded to Soros’ post, writing: “I Will be eager to better meet and understand the goals of

Soros, 39, responded: “I often learn from people who have different views than mine. Open to meeting.”

Whether or not Musk’s offer is genuine remains to be seen, but the young Soros has a large pool of funds to use for philanthropic purposes.

Headed by Alex Soros, the Open Society Foundations reportedly spent $1.7 billion in 2023 alone, bringing its total spending in its history to $22.7 billion.

The organization funds independent justice, democracy and human rights groups, including funding scholarships for black students during apartheid in South Africa and investing in legal efforts to protect the rights of American and European Muslims. is

Soros vs. Trump

While the exchange seems straightforward enough, this wouldn’t be the first time Musk has proposed a meeting that never came to fruition.

What’s more, Musk’s apparent olive branch has by now clearly diverged from his views on the Soros family.

When Alex Soros endorsed Harris, Musk responded that the powerful billionaire had simply chosen his next “puppet.”

Writing on X in mid-July, the SpaceX founder said: “I’d like to thank @AlexanderSoros for not keeping everyone in doubt about who the next stooge will be.”

Let’s not forget that Musk also likened Soros’ father, George, to X-Men supervillain Magneto as the investor dumped Tesla stock.K

The statement was a loaded statement.

Musk compared Soros, a holocaust survivor, intentionally or otherwise, to a fictional character who escaped a Nazi death camp after losing every member of his family.

When Musk was told that society misunderstands the character and that the same could be assumed of Soros, the X boss doubled down: “You assume they’re well-intentioned. They’re not. They’re not.” Soros hates humanity, wants to destroy the fabric of civilization.
