Bob Bryar, My Chemical Romance Drummer, Found Dead at 44: Report

Bob BrierThe former drummer of My Chemical Romance has reportedly been found dead. He was 44 years old.

According to TMZ, The musician was last seen by Animal Control on Monday, November 4 at his home in Tennessee on Tuesday, November 26.

While the cause of death is unclear, the outlet reported that no foul play was suspected. According to TMZ, medical professionals are currently investigating the cause of death.

Brier joined My Chemical Romance in 2004 to play drums, replacing the original drummer. Matt Pelsier. As My Chemical Romance’s longest-tenured drummer, he remained with the band until 2010 and worked on their most popular release, the 2006 album. The Black Parade.

In the years following his departure from MCR, Bryar reportedly worked on other music projects before switching to a real estate career.

Addressing the Alternate Press In 2016, Bryar shared details of being a part of My Chemical Romance from their early days and knowing that the band was “special” from the get-go.

“I quit a really good touring gig where I was doing tour management and vocals. I quit that job to join this band that was dirty, had glassware, a broken, “There was a smoking, death trap van. I wanted to help prepare the band and be able to participate with them every night.

“There are a few shows and events that really stand out for me. The first one included the whole Black Parade tour. I thought I was dreaming most of the time,” Bryer shared. “I really want everyone to have the opportunity to sit on my drum kit, have the best time ever and think how crazy it is during the show.”

He continued: “We spent a lot of money on the tour. We also put all the money we made into the production. We did it because we were more into the show, not the money. It kept us ticket prices high. It helped to have less. I still wish I had a piece of that set as a memory. It was the most enjoyable period of my life.”
