Back on Track – BionicOldGuy

My training is finally back on track after recent setbacks like sciatica. I’m going to try to post more often now, I think I’ve kind of faded away, maybe out of frustration a bit. I do a lot of PT exercises, stretching and strengthening the muscles around the lower back and hip area, so hopefully there will be no more back slips. I’ve returned to averaging about two hours of exercise a day, including cycling, upper body strengthening exercises, and push-ups. So far, so good!

Friday I rode upright to the Coyote Creek trailhead but rode upright on the dirt trails in the immediate area rather than the paved trail. They are used very lightly, I think they are more for riding, but they are great for bikes too as long as you have wide enough tires. I’m able to stand for longer periods of time again in an upright position, which I find to be a fun alternative to riding while sitting.

Yesterday she returned to lie down for a walk in the hills southwest of the city. Cruising at a decent speed, around 18 mph (~30 kph) or so, with a little electric assistance, is exhilarating.
