Alphabet shares slide 6% after DOJ pushes Google to remove Chrome

Alphabet Shares fell 6% on Thursday, following news that the Justice Department is demanding Google contribute to ending its Chrome browser search monopoly.

That would include the proposed breakup, according to the DOJ. Wednesday’s filing“Permanently block Google’s control over this critical search access point and allow rival search engines to gain access to the browser that is the gateway to the Internet for many users.”
