A 30 -year -old man in Bangaluru sued the photovoltaic cinema, Inox and Bookmyshow to “waste” 25 minutes of his time by running long ads before displaying a movie. He said that this caused him a “mental torment” during the offer of Vicky Kochl star Sam Bakdour.

In his complaint, the man who got acquainted with Abishik Al -Sayed claimed that in 2023, he booked 3 tickets to display Sam Bakdour At 4:05 pm, the film was supposed to end at 6:30 pm, which planned to return to work.

However, the film started at 4:30 pm after ads and trailers from various other films were broadcast, which “wasted nearly 30 minutes of time.”

Abhishek said in his complaint that since he could not attend the arrangements and other dates prescribed for this day, he faced losses that cannot be calculated on the terms of money.

He stated that this was clearly in the shadow of an unfair commercial practice, because they misleading the timing of the offer for an unjustified benefit by playing ads. Hearing the man’s appeal, the Consumer Court said, “Time is considered money.”

The court said in its order that 25-30 minutes are “sitting in lethargy in the theater and watching anything else in the theater.” The court added that it is difficult for people who have narrow time schedules to see unnecessary ads.

On the other hand, PVR and INOX told the court that they are obligated to examine certain public service advertisements (PSA) under the law to spread awareness.

The court ruled that the PSAS should be shown 10 minutes before the start of the movie and during the break before the second half. He also said that Bookmyshow was not responsible for any damage at all.

The court sent the photovoltaic cinemas and inx to pay 50,000 dollars for unfair commercial practice and waste the time of the complainant, $ 5,000 of mental suffering, and $ 10,000 for “submitting the complaint and other inscriptions”.

PVR and Inox have been slaughtered with a $ 1 penalty for a cob, which should be deposited in the Consumer Care Box.
