President Donald Trump Ance says “unhappy” with Boeing after delaying the new air force.
Boeing Kelly Ordrag’s CEO said Thursday that Elon Musk “helps us a lot” in addressing issues that delay the delivery of a new air force presidential plane in Boeing.
Ortberg told analysts and investors at the Barclays Industrial SELECT conference that the company is making advance with the help of Musk, CEO of Spacex Competition. The work focused on improving the time to deliver late air aircraft, in addition to eliminating the risk of continued cost excesses.
“Elon Musk actually helps us to work through the requirements … so that we can move faster and make the president those aircraft that are being delivered,” said Ordrag.

“You know that he is a great man, so he is able to quickly check the difference between the technical requirements and things that we can get out of the road and help us greatly,” said Ordrag.

The Boeing Defense Unit, which is making Air Force One, has taken multiple fees due to the cost excesses on fixed price contracts.

The new Air Force One contract was initially granted to Boeing in 2018, when he received a $ 3.9 billion contract to build a new 747-8 plane for use as Air Force One. The plane was assumed to be originally delivered by December 2024, but the subsequent delay led to the re -pushing it to 2027 or 2028, with a new delay that pushed it back.
The former head of the defense department of Boeing said in July that Boeing was dealing with the supply, inflation chain, workforce and other challenges in building aircraft, which are largely modified versions of 747 aircraft. Boeing lost more than two billion dollars on the program amid delay.

Boeing 747-8s, which will ultimately work as Air Force One, is designed to be an air-and-air white house that can fly in worse security scenarios, such as the nuclear war, and are modified with military airlines, advanced communications and self-defense system.
Earlier this week, Trump administration official, Edward Lawrence, told the new Air One team that was delayed again until 2029 or later due to the problems that Boeing attributed to global supply chains and change project requirements.

“It is absurd that the delivery of the new Air One has been late for a long time,” Stephen Chiong, White House Communications Manager, told Fox Business. “President Trump is working to quickly speed up the delivery of a new plane, which was necessary for a while.”
