Jen Shah’s Prison Sentence Gets Reduced Again, New Early Release Date Revealed!
Jen Shah’s prison sentence has been reduced for a third time, with the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City alum set to be released one month earlier than expected.
Over two years after the 51-year-old pled guilty to fraud for running a telemarketing scheme that targeted the elderly, Jen’s release date has been moved up following a reduction in her sentence.
Jen, who was previously sentenced to 6.5 years in prison, will now be released from the Bryan Federal Prison Camp in Texas on November 19, 2027, instead of December 19, 2027, as initially scheduled.
“Jen Shah’s assistant Stuart Smith has been sentenced to 9 months in prison. He will report to prison on January 17, 2025. Additionally, Jen Shah’s release date has been reduced yet again, with the new date listed for November 19, 2027,” the Housewives of SLC fan page shared on Instagram on December 11.
Jen Shah pled guilty to charges of wire fraud and money laundering, admitting to running the scam for several years. The scheme deceived victims into paying for services that were never delivered.
During the hearing, Judge Stein expressed that Stuart’s involvement in the scheme, which lasted from 2012 to 2021, warranted a prison sentence.
“I think some prison time is appropriate,” Judge Stein stated. Stuart, who has been vocal about his experience with Jen Shah, shared his thoughts during the hearing, saying, “I feel those who arrested me freed me from the devil … I did try to get away from her. I was thankful for the arrest, I got out from under her thumb.”
While acknowledging Smith’s role in the scheme, Judge Stein offered leniency in his sentencing, stating, “It seems Mr. Smith was not entirely an independent actor. So I am going to be lenient. I sentence you to 9 months incarceration.”
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season five airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
