Pre-orders are now open for four new PlayStation 5 accessories in a new color: Midnight Black. This is better than other types of black because it stays up after bedtime. The collection includes the DualSense Edge wireless controller, Portal Remote player, Pulse Explore wireless earbuds — priced at $200 each — and the Pulse Elite wireless headset, which sells for $150. All four are expected to ship on February 20.
Sony announced the collection earlier this month and the new accessories join the already available Midnight Black standard Dual Sense controller ($75) and PS5 controller cover ($55). Like the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection, Midnight Black accessories let you add a bit of personal flair to your gaming setup, but a little more stylish and interesting. If previous PlayStation releases are any indication, there’s a chance these new accessories will sell out before everyone gets one, so if Midnight Black sounds exciting to you like… video Sounds like it, you might want to start adding things to your shopping cart.
Pre-order the DualSense Edge wireless controller for $200: Compared to the standard DualSense controller, the Edge model gives you some additional features and options for customization. Buttons under the sticks change button assignments while switches adjust the length of the trigger pull. It comes with two sets of back paddles as well as additional joysticks, all of which are magnetically interchangeable. A matching case is also included. Also live from PlayStation.
Pre-order the Portal Remote Player for $200: The Portal Remote Player got a lukewarm review from us in 2023, but we started to warm up once Sony started cloud gaming. The Gateway has an 8-inch LCD screen (1080p at 60 fps), haptic feedback, and connects to your PS5 via Wi-Fi.
Pre-order the Pulse Explore wireless earbuds for $200: The earbuds connect via Bluetooth and Sony’s PlayStation Link technology, which promises an ultra-low-latency connection to your PS5, PC, Mac, and remote Portal player. Pre-order the Pulse Elite wireless headphone for $150: The Elite Headphones come with a headphone charging dock so you can properly display your new accessory, making sure it’s ready for use next time (and yes, the stand is the same color for your late night outs).
