Former WBO World Super Middleweight Champion and current WBA Super World Cruiserweight Champion Gilberto ‘Zordo’ Ramirez defeated WBO World Cruiser Champion Chris Blum Smith on Saturday night at Latino Night at The Venue in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Ramirez (47-1, 30 KOs) outlasted Blum Smith (20-2, 13 KOs), winning a 12-round unanimous decision in the main event on DAZN.
Blum-Smith had a slight advantage in punches in the first round. In the opening minute of the second round, Ramirez landed a lead left to the chin. In the final minute, Blum Smith landed a solid right to the chin. In the third round, Ramirez knocked out Blum Smith.
In the final minute of the fourth round, Ramirez landed some solid leads on the chin, and Blumsmith took them well. He is the same age and size, Blumsmith has a small cut on his left eyelid.
Both had their moments in the fifth, with Blum-Smith landing uppercuts and Ramirez landing a big left to the chin on Bell. Ramirez had a big goal with blood coming down his face in the sixth from Blum Smith’s left eyelid. The ring physician performed an eye test between rounds.
In the seventh round, another good one for Ramirez knocks Blumsmith out to the body, and Blumsmith’s left eye is partially closed. It was all Ramirez until the final minute in the eighth, with Blum-Smith landing three short rights to the chin.
Ramirez has to wonder what’s keeping Blumsmith at number nine. He continued to land punches from Ramirez. After one round, Blum-Smith had his best round of the fight.
In the eleventh round, Blum-Smith showed plenty of heart, matching Ramirez punch for punch. Both had moments in the twelfth and final round, and looked tired at the bell.

Arnold Barboza Jr. defeated Jose Ramirez.
In the co-main event, former 2012 Olympian and former WBC and WBO light welterweight champion Jose Ramirez (29-2, 18 KOs) lost a close decision to WBO Intercontinental Super Lightweight Champion Arnold Barboza Jr. (31-0, 11 KOs). . By 10-round unanimous decision.
In the first round it was like a chess match. A strong finish from Barboza may have won him the round. Ramirez continues to come out ahead in another close fight in the second and third rounds. In the fourth round, Ramirez might have closed out the round with a strong finish.
In the fifth round, at the end of the minute, Barboza landed a solid right to the chin after controlling his jab. In the sixth and seventh rounds, it continued with Barboza’s jabs. At both bells, Barboza landed a jab and right hand to Ramirez’s chin.
In the eighth and ninth rounds, Ramirez continued to come forward, possibly taking rounds from Barboza. In the tenth and final round, Barboza countered Ramirez in a close fight, landing good left hooks to the body.

William Zepeda Ages Tune Farmer
No. 1 in all four sanctioning bodies, WBA Continental America lightweight champion southpaw William ‘Cameron’ Zepeda (32-0, 27 KOs) defeated former IBF super featherweight champion southpaw Tevin ‘Two Time’ Farmer (33-7 -1, 8 KOs), coming off the canvas for the WBC interim lightweight title.
In the second round, Zepeda landed a flurry of punches. In the fourth round, Farmer dropped Zepeda with a left counter on a miss to the chin halfway through the round for an 8 count from referee Harvey Dock. In the fifth round, Zepeda came back, throwing more punches, while Farmer landed harder punches.
Zepeda came back well in the sixth round and Farmer put a lot of pressure on him. Zepeda continues to come forward in the seventh round but Kisan is close enough to fight him off.
In the eighth and ninth rounds, each had their moments, with Zepeda coming forward and Kisan fighting back, each landing a round. In the tenth and final round, Kisan lands the jab while Zepeda does not. Zapida punches in the flags, but Farmer knows how to tie him up, stop his momentum. The farmer may have pulled out a big upset. A knockout can make a difference.

Oscar Collazo stopped CP Freshmart Niyomtrong.
WBA World Minimumweight Champion Tamnon ‘CP Freshmart’ Neumtrong (25-1, 9 KOs) def WBO Minimum Champ Oscar ‘El Pupilo’ Collazo (11-0, 8 KOs) in a unification title fight at 1:29 Stopped. Seventh round of a scheduled 12 rounds.
In the first five rounds, southpaw Collazo was mostly busy with both. It looked like CP Freshmart was loading up for a big counter, but it didn’t.
In the sixth round, after a minute, CP Freshmart landed a solid right to the chin. With 30 seconds left, a counter right hook to the chin and a bottom from Collazo went to CP Fresh Mart for an 8 count by referee Ricky Gonzalez.
In the seventh round, a double right hook from Collazo to the head and down sent CP Freshmart to the canvas for an 8 count by referee Gonzalez a little over a minute into the round. Shortly after a borderline left followed by a left uppercut to the chin from Collazo and down he went with referee Gonzalez immediately waving it off.
Oscar Duarte defeated Bortirozon Akhmedov.
Super lightweight Oscar ‘La Migrana’ Duarte (28-2-1, 22 KOs) defeated 2016 southpaw Olympian (over 100 bouts) Botyrzon ‘The Shark’ Akhmedov (10-4, 9 KOs) in ten rounds. gave Durrett lost the opening round but came back well enough to take the decision.
Southpaw Akhmidov, a two-time world title winner, looked to have the upper hand late in the first round. They have had several rounds against each other before this match. In the second through fifth rounds, Akhmedov had the upper hand while Durrett wasn’t as busy, and some punches fell short.
In the sixth and seventh rounds, Durrett was able to land more as Akhmedov was now more forward with his head. In the eighth round, Durrett landed a right to Akhmidov’s chin in the first minute, getting his attention. He immediately returned, but as the fight continued, Dorrit seemed to have an answer.
Durate landed several rights to the chin in the ninth round. So far the fight has not had a single victory, making it easy for referee Robert Hoyle. In the tenth and final round, Durrett backed up Akhmedov throughout the round, making it the first time he had faced him. Finally, a small cut on Durat’s forehead.

Welter Ziyad ‘Zizou’ Almayouf (6-0-1, 1 KO) finished in a dominant six-round draw with Juan Carlos ‘Demoldor’ Garcia (5-6-1).
In the first round, Almayev controlled it using his jab. In the final seconds, Garcia landed a strong left hook. In the second round, Garcia knocked Almayev in the mouth late. Instead of taking him to the corner, referee Robert Hoyle put him back in. Garcia had a big round in his body.
In the third round, Almayev ended the round by jabbing Garcia with a left hook and snapping Garcia’s head back. In the fourth and fifth rounds, both had their moments. At the last second, Garcia drew blood from Almayev’s nose in the fourth.
Garcia wins the fight in the sixth and final round, but will he get a decision over the local challenger? No, ended in a draw.
