Sean “Daddy” Combs was reportedly in high demand as a musical guest on “Saturday Night Live” in the ’90s.
While appearing on “Bodybuilders” Podcast Hosted by current “SNL” star Bowen Yang and the self-proclaimed Prince of Christmas Matt Rogers, comedian Anna Gastier claimed that Diddy “shut down the whole building” for his May 1998 appearance.
Gastier was a regular cast member on the show from 1996 to 2002, and Diddy remembers performing “Come With Me” with Jimmy Page and the New York Philharmonic. He said that the closure of the seat is an unusual event.

“You could tell like five a**holes in the six years that I was there, when they’d be like, ‘This is how it is in the building, everybody stay in your dressing rooms.’ Which applies if you’re a presidential candidate,” Gastier said. “But other than that, really, this is my home.”
Gasteyer added, “For P. Diddy, he demanded a completely closed set.”

“SNL” cast members were reportedly locked in the writers’ room off the closed set while Daddy was rehearsing. Gastier remembered Will Ferrell as “Ron” when he decided to crash the set.
“He went down the stairs, and he went right in,” she said. “And I have video from the control room where Sean Combs is rapping… and Ron is walking around, looking really upset.”

He added, “It’s the greatest thing that’s ever happened, because what does a person deserve to have their Kashmir moment interrupted by Ron, and [Diddy] Didn’t really roll with it. He was very anxious.”
“But it was just like that, the artificiality of all this false importance,” Gastier said. “Like what’s going to happen? You’re going to go into the studio, and you’re going to be like, “I’m in the studio. I work here.”
