Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has taken a “temporary” hiatus from social media and many have shared their thoughts on the NBA’s all-time leading scorer’s move.
It also led to some defense of James, which came in the form of former ESPN employee Jemley Hill.
Hill praised James’ move, which he posted on X, saying “Twitter has become largely unbearable. Selfishly, I hope he deactivates his account. “

This led to an argument in the comments below Hill’s post, with one user saying “I think being a sore loser and actually engaging in uncensored anti-politics would have upset the left. It’s a soft move.”
Hill responded by saying, “You’re all under the delusional belief that it’s some kind of honor to subject yourself to constant vitriol and engage with an a-hole.”
Jamley Hill Says Nick Bosa Lacks ‘Courage’ To Explain Trump Support, Citing LeBron James’ Harris Nod ‘In Detail’
“This app is at an all-time low,” Hill added. “It’s full of racists, conspiracy theorists and aggressors. God help you if you find it intellectually stimulating.”
One X user agreed with Hill, commenting that he has an “easy answer” for people you don’t want to hear from on the app — the “block button.” User X also said “it’s a stigma that people who lean left are snowflakes”, to which Hill responded.
“What I find funny is that the people who throw around this ‘snowflake’ term are the weakest people,” he replied. “Sorry, it’s not ‘Challenging Ideology’ to have someone c 100 times a day. [Elon] Musk also changed the block features on the platform. And then, no one owes you an engagement.”
Hill recently defended James when it came to the presidential election, where he criticized San Francisco 49ers star Nick Bosa for not wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat in support of President-elect Donald Trump before the election. Criticized. day
James went into detail about why she supported Vice President Kamala Harris in the election, saying, “Being a daughter, being a wife, being a mother and things like that, when it comes to women’s rights. What (Harris) believes in is what my children’s future is and what I see our country to be.”
Hill used James’ detailed response to why he was voting for Harris to blast Bosa.
“Oh look, LeBron was asked about a public political statement he made and he explained in detail why he did it. Nick Bosa doesn’t have the guts to do that,” he said.
James’ moment from social media came after he shared a screenshot of a lengthy X post by NBA agent Rich Kleiman, where he ripped national sports coverage for its negativity.
“We can all agree that sport is the last part of society that universally brings people together. So why can’t coverage do the same? It’s just clickbait when you say that,” Cleman wrote at the time.. “When the platform is that big, you can make a difference and allow us all an escape from the negativity of real life. I think it’s all a waste of breath. The Olympics and JJ [Redick] And Braun’s show was the future of what it could and should be.”
James said “Amen!!” on the post before sharing his decision to step away from his social platforms.
