It’s never easy for fans to say goodbye to their favorite characters unexpectedly — and 2024 has seen an influx of shocking departures from our TV screens.
In January, viewers learned this. Josh Stewart William will not reprise his role as LaMontagne Jr. The Criminal Mind: Evolution. Stewart brought the role of J.J. (AJ Cook) to husband for life on OG Criminal mind Show up before coming to recovery.
“[S]Unfortunately, my days of playing Will LaMontagne Jr. are over,” Stewart wrote via X in response to a question about his future on the show. “You guys have been absolutely awesome.”
Criminal mindwhich aired from 2005 to 2020, followed a group of profilers who work for the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit hunting down serial killers. Over the years, the drama has seen several surprising exits including Mandy Patinkin, Thomas Gibson And Lola Glodini.. The revival brought back the cast of the original series Joe Mantegna, Cook, Kristen Wangsens, Ayesha Tyler, Adam Rodriguez And Paget Brewster.
A month after Stewart’s announcement, NBC announced Sam Waterston The DA was stepping down from his role as Jack McCoy. Law and Order.
“It’s time for me to move on and take Jack McCaw with me. It’s sad to leave, but I’m very curious about what’s next,” Waterston said in a February statement. Don’t want to get too comfortable.
