Republicans hold a slim majority in the House of Representatives, although the size of that narrow margin won’t be known until the final three undecided races are called.
On Wednesday, The Associated Press called Ohio’s 9th Congressional District for Democratic incumbent Rep. Marcy Kaptur and Alaska’s largest district for Republican entrepreneur Nick Begich, who unseated Democratic incumbent Rep. Mary Satler Paltola. The seat turned red.
Three House races in California and Iowa that remained uncontested as of Thursday.
The balance of power currently stands at 219 seats for the Republicans and 213 for the Democrats.

California
13th Congressional District
Republican Rep. John Duarte is leading former Democratic state Assemblyman Adam Gray in California’s 13th Congressional District, but the hotly contested race remains undeclared as of Thursday morning.
About 96% of the votes have been counted, and Duarte has a 50.1% to 49.9% lead. The two candidates are separated by just 351 votes at 101,217 to 100,866.
45th Congressional District
Democratic challenger Derek Tran is leading Republican incumbent Rep. Michelle Steele in the 45th District. Steele was ahead by a few hundred votes late last week, but Tran is now up by 397 votes as of Thursday morning with 155,862 total votes compared to Steele’s 155,465.
About 97% of the votes have been counted for the district.

Iowa
1st Congressional District
Republican incumbent Rep. Marinette Miller-Max has 99 percent of the vote with less than 1 percentage point lead over challenger Christina Bohannon. Miller Max’s lead is just over 800 votes.

Bohannon has requested a recount in his bid to unseat Miller Max. The Associated Press has not yet called the race because the margin was so close it could have prompted a recount.
Miller Max has declared victory and said he is confident of his lead.
