Ryan Garcia revealed his plans for his next two fights today, revealing that he is facing Rukiya Anpo in an exhibition match in Japan on December 30th.
After a three-round showing against Enpo, Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) says he wants to avenge Mike Tyson by fighting Jack Paul. In other words, Ryan is fighting an exhibition and then a YouTuber. ‘Oh, pain, pain.’
The lanky 6’0″ Enpo is the same guy who fought a three-round showdown against 45-year-old Manny Pacquiao earlier this year on July 28 in Saitama, Japan. He looked like he was trying to knock out the Filipino star. He was legging Manny, hitting him with everything in a match he clearly dominated, but it ended in a three-round draw.
An appearance is one way to avoid a one-year ban for Ryan Garcia received by the New York State Athletic Commission after testing positive for a banned substance following his April 20 win over Devin Haynie in Brooklyn, New York. is
Ryan, 26, had better get ready for three rounds of some kind because Enpo is not the type of guy to take it easy. He will fight in front of his fans in Japan and try to make a name for himself around the world. Getting knocked out by Enpo, a kickboxer, would look bad for Ryan.
If Ryan is serious about fighting cruiserweight Jack Paul, Enpo will prepare him for the kind of power shots that will get him killed. However, due to their large size difference, I don’t see a potential fight between Ryan and Jake.
Unless Ryan wants to bulk up the way Jake did last Friday night in preparation for his eight-rounder against 58-year-old Mike Tyson, he’ll drop a lot of weight to see this fight likely. will
