Canadian rapper Drake isn’t afraid to put his money where his mouth is when it comes to betting big on sports events.
Former heavyweight champion of the world Mike Tyson and YouTube-turned-professional boxer Jack Paul squared off on Friday night. The long-awaited fight garnered a lot of interest and attracted a large number of bets.

Drake was confident that Tyson, 58, would be able to win a match against Paul, 27, and bet “Iron Mike” several hundred thousand dollars. But, Paul eventually defeated Tyson in a unanimous decision.
Johnny Manziel wants Drake on his new podcast and promises not to ask him about the Kendrick Lamar beef.
In a social media post, Drake revealed his $355,000 bet on Tyson to win, which was placed at +285 odds. Given those odds, the five-time Grammy winner would have been in line for a salary of nearly $1 million.
Drake wasn’t the only notable person to lose huge sums of money following the fight’s aftermath. UFC star Conor McGregor said he has put a total of $1 million on this weekend’s fights.
McGregor had a bet for Tyson to win against Paul. He also placed a bet between Jon “Bones” Jones and Stipe Mayock in Saturday’s UFC 309 event.

After Friday’s fight, Paul was asked about the possibility of a fight between him and McGregor in the future. “Yeah, he would never do that, though,” Paul said, before his manager Nikisa Bedaran jumped in and said, “One, he’s under contract. And two, he wouldn’t do it.” He knows better.”
The Tyson-Paul bout also suffered from buffering issues. Bandwidth issues have raised some concerns about Netflix’s ability to provide stable streams for NFL games this Christmas.
